1- Bake and cool your cookies.

2- Prepare your colors.

3- Outline the left side of the shamrock with green royal icing.

4- Outline the right side of the shamrock with orange royal icing.

5- Outline the center of the shamrock with white royal icing.

6- Next you are going to flood the cookie. I started with green then orange and then the last color which was white.

This is my finished shamrock cookie.

I can’t believe that Valentine’s Day is only 2 days away! If you are like me and you still haven’t stopped by the store to pick up something for that special person, then you still have time to make them some cookies. This cookie is easy to make and it’s sure to impress that special person!

1- Bake & cool your cookie. (I used a 5″ heart cookie cutter)

2- Outline your cookie.

3- Flood your cookie.

4- Draw horizontal lines. (This step needs to be done quickly if not your icing will dry)

5- To get the marble effect drag the tip of a tooth pick up and down the horizontal lines. (See arrows in the picture below)

6- With a # 1 tip make small pink dots around the border, make sure that you give enough space to add a second dot.

7- With a # 1 tip make small purple dots in between the pink dots.

Here is a picture of what your cookie should look like when it’s completed.

Thank you for stopping by & stay sweet!

A couple of days ago I promised to post a 2nd (or should I say 3rd) Superman cookie tutorial. This tutorial is for anyone who doesn’t have a KopyKake Projector, I have to warn you this is very simple and you will be amazed by the results!

Bake and cool your cookies.

Find a Superman logo on the Internet, once you find the image make sure that you resize it to the size of the cookie that you are using. Next, carefully cut out only all of the yellow parts of the Superman logo and discard the rest.

Align all the yellow pieces on top of the cookie.

With a food decorating marker trace the yellow pieces. If you mess up don’t worry, remember that it will all be hidden away underneath the royal icing.

This is what the cookie should look like after you are done tracing all the yellow pieces.

With a PME tip # 1.5 with black royal icing outline what you just finished tracing.

With the same tip and black royal icing outline the edge of the cookie.

Wait about 15 – 20 minutes to let the black outline dry and then flood the cookie with yellow royal icing.

The last step is to flood the remaining part with red royal icing.

I hope everyone is having a great Sunday. Because my first Superman Cookie tutorial was such a popular post I decided to further explain how I did the cookie so that everyone has a better understanding. I also have a little surprise that I can’t wait to share with you! But for now let’s get started.

Bake and cool your cookies.

Find a Superman logo on the Internet, once you find the image make sure that you resize it to the size of the cookie that you are using.

Once you have resized your image you can insert it into the Kopykake projector flap. Always remember to insert your image upside down.

Close the Kopykake projector flap and turn on the Kopykake projector, align the image onto your cookie.

I started tracing the outside part of the image. I used a PME tip # 1.5

Then I traced the inside part of the image.

I waited about 15 – 20 minutes and then I flooded my cookie with yellow royal icing.

Then I flooded the remaining part with red royal icing.

Here is the finished Superman Cookie.

At the beginning of the post I told you that I had a surprise for everyone, well I will soon be posting a second Superman tutorial for anyone that doesn’t have a KopyKake projector!

Thank you for stopping by & stay sweet!

Tomorrow is the Chinese New Year and this year is the year of the Dragon! The Dragon occupies the 5th position in the Chinese Zodiac, it is the mightiest of the signs. Dragons symbolize such character traits as dominance and ambition. Dragons prefer to live by their own rules and if left on their own, are usually successful. They’re driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks. They’re passionate in all they do and they do things in grand fashion. If you would like to learn a little more just click here. Well now that I gave you a little background let me show you how I made the cookie.

First you are going to bake and cool your cookies and prepare your royal icing in black, red, yellow, green and white.

I decided to use a rectangle cookie for this particular design.

Then you will insert the image into the Kopykake projector.

Outline your cookie with black royal icing. I used a PME tip size 1.5.

Alternating with yellow and red royal icing flood your cookie.

With green and white royal icing flood the eyes. With white royal icing flood the horns

And the final step with a Wilton tip # 16, pipe the border.

Here is my finished cookie… Happy Year of the Dragon!

Thank you for stopping by & stay sweet!

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying the time with their families and friends. Today I want to show you how to make some simple Christmas cupcake toppers. I made these for our Christmas party.

First you are going to roll out some red Satin Ice Fondant on a non-stick mat; about 2-3mm thick.

With a 1 1/2″ round scalloped cutter cut your circles.

Once your circles are cut remove the excess fondant.

With a #2 piping tip punch out holes on each of the scallops.

Using the FMM alphabet cutter set I cut the letters to spell “Merry Christmas”.

Then using the PME Holly Leaf Plunger Cutter set I cut out the tiny Holly Leaves.

Once the letters dried out a bit, with a little bit of water and a brush I glued them on to the scalloped circles and I did the same with the Holly Leaves.

Below are a few pictures of scalloped circles and the cupcakes.

Thank you for stopping by & stay sweet!

This year when I purchased the plates, napkins and tablecloths for our Christmas party the theme was the Holly Leaf. I wanted everyone to have a take home gift so I decided to make Holly Leaf cookies as a thank you gift. Here is a tutorial on how to make Holly Leaf cookies.

First you are going to bake and cool your cookies and prepare your royal icing in green and red.

Outline your cookie.

Flood your cookie.

Add three red dots with tip #2.

Sprinkle American Red Disco Dust on each of the red dots. Once the dots have dried remove the excess disco dust from the cookie with a hard bristle paint brush. Make sure to place a plate under so you can catch and reuse the disco dust.

This is the brush that I used to brush off the excess disco dust, I got the brush at Office Depot.

Then I placed two cookies in a plastic food safe bag and tied them up with red & green ribbons. Each cookie bag was then place at the table in front of the dinner plate. I hope this gives you a new idea for your next party!

Thank you for stopping by and stay sweet!

Hello again! The count down to Christmas has begun! We are only six days away; can you believe this? Tonight I will bake a batch of Christmas cookies for our dinner table. As I was gathering all the items that I needed I came across my favorite tool and I immediatley wanted to share it with you! You might want to add this tool to your Christmas wish-list. Maybe Santa can bring you this super handy & easy to use tool to roll out your cookie dough.

I came across the Joseph Joseph Adjustable Rolling Pin about a year ago and ever since I got it I haven’t stopped using it.

There are several features that I like about this rolling pin:

1- It can be used to roll out cookie dough and pie dough.

2- It has an etched pastry-widths measurement guide.

3- It comes with six removeable disks to roll out your dough to your desired thickness.

4- The disks are etched with their measurements for your convenience. They are etched in inches and in millimeters.

5- You might be asking yourself how do I change the disks? Well it’s pretty simple it’s just like loosening a screw.
